As a prospective member of our buying group, you will
want to be aware of any expense or cost associated with being a SAFBI
member. Most, if not all, SAFBI members agree these costs are miniscule
compared to the huge advantage membership gives each participant. You
will be a full partner with equal benefits and ownership with members
who have worked countless hours at markets and in board meetings for
years to bring SAFBI to the level it is today.

The voluntary efforts of the members make SAFBI responsive to the needs
of every store and each member's input is important. SAFBI began in 1960
to help individual dealers survive the "BIG BOX" and chain furniture
stores moving into our markets. You will be able to compete having our
group buying and the huge inventory designed for your customer without
tying up your profits on inventory in your warehouse. Most members are
over 100 miles from the warehouse and usually make a minimum of one trip
per week. This becomes very easy to do as it works into your schedule.
Under present rules, resolution, and practices, there are a number of
requirements for membership in SAFBI. The most significant of these are
a follows:
* $100 purchase of one share common stock.
* $5,000 non-refundable capital contribution, may be paid with $2,500 initial payment plus $100 per month for 25 months.
* $5,000 additional long term, no interest loan to SAFBI, to be paid at $100 per month after the initial capital contribution is satisfied, months 26 thru 75
* $300 - $500 monthly dues, based on selected level of participation
* 1% surcharge on all furniture purchases (rebate, if any, based on participation)
* MANDATORY PARTICIPATION in targeted inventory reduction program at $300 - $500 purchases per month depending on level of participation
* Various pricing levels and prompt payment discounts depending on participation level
I appreciate this opportunity to share with you what I consider to be
the greatest advantage an individual furniture dealer can possible have
in today's competitive market. We are aggressively recruiting members in
each market to add to the effective membership we have now. I would like
to have you visit our facility in Terrell, a 60,000 square foot
warehouse with sate of the art shelving and equipment. I point out again
that each member store owns an equal share of this facility and access
to our huge inventory.
